Have a Question? We may already have the answer!

Q - What are the first steps when considering going solar ?

A - Determine what you want the solar to do for you , do you just want a backup system that keeps your home live during an outage or do you want to harness the suns energy for more independence

Q - How do I know if I have single phase or 3 phase ?

A - This is usually simple to pick up by looking at your main switch board , usually the main switch will be grouped in a double pole switch or a triple pole switch . Double is usually a single phase supply and the triple is usually a 3 phase supply

Q - I want to go Solar but cannot front the entire project , can I do it in increments and are these systems scalable ?

A - YES , so first off you would have to do the main infrastructure ( Inverter & Battery ) , this is wired to your homes main distribution board with all the necessary legal AC switch gear. This would be considered a “backup system” where the utility charges your batteries . Solar panels can be adapted at a later stage – all the Inverters we use have built in Solar Charge Controllers “ Solar Ready ”

Q - How many solar panels can I fit to my roof and have wired to my inverter?

A - a few parameters need to be considered when fitting solar panels.

  1. How much useable beneficial roof space do I have available for panels ( various wattages @ various sizes ) ?

  2. What can your charge controller on your inverter handle ?

So in a nutshell this depends on your roof space as well as your inverter – anything from 16 panels on a 8KW system to 30 panels on a 12KW 3 phase System

Q - What size inverter do I go for?

A - So this would ultimately depend on the size of your house , a 5KW system can run essentials ( some plugs , lights ) where as the 8KW single phase or 12KW 3 phase can run the entire electrical board ( excluding ovens and geysers )
